1, no 2, no 3 Times a Pee-Pee

100_2263.JPG

Overall, being a parent is pretty cool. For one, you're NEVER EVER bored. Two, you can always have a good laugh by just staring at your kid. And, all around, it's just a fulfilling experience (you know, kind of like quitting drugs or getting laid for the first time).

To make things even better, God designed it in such a way that being a parent actually gets easier as the years go by. Well, that's until the Devil rears his head at the age of 13, but we won't get into that here.

One of the things that make a parents life INCREDIBLY easier is potty training. We've been busy and lazy for quite some time, but when you turned two, we decided to make two major changes. First, we took the all so important binky away! yikes! After 2-3 days you were over it and were proclaiming that "I'm a big girl cuz I don't use my binky." Cool. One change down, one to go.

The second change we made was starting to potty train you. We weren't sure exactly how to go about this. Everyone from Dr. Drew to Dr. Phil has their opinions. Throw in a few comments from your parents and other surrounding adults, and soon we're confused as all hell. Your mom did a little research though and kind of knew what she was doing. So, we just started putting you in pull-ups and sitting you on the potty every hour or so. At first you liked it. A little too much actually. You would say, "I have to go pee." We'd take you and alas, we did not here the tinkle. Then we'd clean you up, wash your hands and two minutes later, you'd say "I have to go pee pee." And, then we weren't sure what to do. Do we not take you to reinforce the fact that you should have gone two minutes ago? Or, should we take you and hope for the best.

But, that was 2 days ago and this post is about yesterday and today. In the last 12 hours, you've gone pee-pee in the potty 3 times!! The first time, you just went cuz you were on the potty anyways. But, the second and third times, you said, "I have to go potty!" and then you actually went!

We can't tell you how freakin' proud of you we are. Now, let's just step it up to number two and your mom and I can retire as baby parents and become toddler parents. We're not sure we're quite ready for that. So, if you continue to drop bombs in your diaper...well, maybe we're OK with that for now.

Now With Video!

More video to come. We're gonna start off slow w/ a picture show. If you weren't at Ayjia's 2nd birthday, you can act like you were by watching this. And, if you were there, you can relive the fun right with a click of the play button.

You People Are Vicious

OK, so after numerous threats and "friendly" suggestions for more posts, we're finally back to posting. Yes, it's been a little while, but we had important things going on like Jesus Christ's birthday, Ayjia's birthday, and the start of American Idol.

But now that all of those things are over with, we're back in the saddle. Expect new posts weekly. At least for now, I'm sure we'll dissapoint you again within the next month.

We love you all. Thank you for reading. Enjoy the 4 (count them 4) new posts! Now, leave us alone. We're going to go sit in a corner and wait patiently until Apple reduces the price of the new MacBook Pros.

Happy Birthday To You!

We can't believe it. You're already two! Oh my God! Stop growing already! Our family and friends gathered to usher you into the "Terrible" stage. We opened some presents on the night of your birthday, but we had the real party the day after your b-day on January 8th. We know, we know...we can't even get your birthday right!

The night of your b-day, you opened presents with a few of your favorite peeps.

Are you trying to put a spell on this?

Some goofy kids in your play house on the day of your b-day. We like that new Yia Yia doll you put in your house. It's incredibly life-like.

Note to self. Balloons, although seemingly incredibly cheap, actually cost a lot of money. Damn price psychology.

Ayjia got some new jewelry for Christmas and on her birthday. This was not on the day of her birthday, but we thought you would enjoy this little gem of a picture. This is our "thank you" for being patient with us.

Good Bye Tahoe! See You Next Time!

So, at last our time in Tahoe came to an end. We decided to celebrate our trip by going out a nice dinner at the Chart House (a must go if you haven't been....also stop by the Naked Fish). The Ayjia news crew was there to capture all the action...

This is about as good of a picture you're going to get w/ your grandparents.
