Oh, how I miss you. This week, your dad (me) has been in New York without you. I hate traveling without you kid. I’ve been missing you like crazy ever since I left. Right now, I’m in Boston. I stopped in New York on my way to Boston because my flight landed there and it happens to be my favorite place in the world. I had a lot of fun in NY…I got to see one of my favorite bands, Interpol, got to see a few comedians, got to see the museum of Natural History, and drink at my favorite bar (Broome St.). But, all along I was thinking about you and wishing I could be around you. In fact, some of the most fun I had in NY was when I was shopping for you. And boy did I get you some cute stuff. The best thing I got you was a CBGB’s shirt! By the time you read this, they will probably be closed down, but CBGB’s was the quintessential punk rock venue in the world. I tried to get you your first Hard Rock t-shirt, but they were too big (this is my 2nd failed attempt after trying to find baby sizes in Singapore as well). I also tried to get you an “I love NY” shirt as well, but again…I couldn’t find your size. Oh well. The CBGB’s shirt will have to do. And, I promise we’ll post pics as soon as I get back home.

So, now I’m in Boston. Your Aunt Julie lives here and when I arrived she told me she was pregnant w/ her first child. Actually, I think she’s pregnant with her first children (note: plural) as twins run in our family and her due date is May 31st – Gemini! So, now that this is posted, we’ll see if I’m right in a few months. How exciting is that…another cousin! You know, growing up I only had one cousin and you’re going to have at least 5 (David, Gabriel, Nicholas, and the new twins!) Of course the one time I’m in Boston for a few days, your Aunt left for a vacation in North Carolina (I think). Figures! But, I’m in process for applying to Babson to get my MBA. So, if I get in, I’ll be here once a month

But if I do start coming out here once a month, I’m going to have to figure out how to bring you and your mom along as well. Any ideas? Traveling is so much fun and it quenches my thirst to see and experience the world. But, right now, you are my world, so pack your bags…cuz until you’re 18, you’re stuck with me, your travelin’ dad..

So, there is a lot going on in Ayjia world, so we thought we'd post a lot of pictures. You are saying more words every day. You shocked mom and dad the other night when we were reading your favorite book (again!), "My Grandpa Is Great!" (note that my high school English teacher is mad I didn't underline the book title). When we were reading the book at bedtime, dad paused and you started finishing sentences with words that you don't even know! It went like this...

Dad: My Grandpa Is
Ayjia: Great
Dad: He always has time for me, even when he's
Ayjia: Busy
Dad: I love going to stay with him for the
Ayjia: Weekend!

It was incredible! You also started singing along w/ full songs the other day. When dad picked you up at day care, he started singing the Elmo song by request. When dad asked you to finish the sentences in the song, you just kept singing the whole thing! You not exactly enunciating perfectly, but it's the cutest thing. We also started using our video camera again, so hopefully we have some of these moments captured.

Mom also set up your new house with a television! Damn, you is pimpin! Yup, we stole a TV from yia yia and a VCR from Glamma and now you are all set up. This weekend, at about 9:00pm, we let you stay up late and watch movies in your house. You loved it and both nights you came out after ~45 minutes because you were tired and ready to go to bed. You are such a perfect kid.

And, you got new shoes. We know, we know, the pink leopard print shoes are the epitome of fashion, but mom and dad decided to push a little of their style onto you and got you some pink chucks! Mom dressed you up like a little girl punk the other day and you looked so cute. You even ran over the mirror to check yourself out! You're so vain, baby! But, when you're that cute, we think the world will forgive you. After all, this is the world according to you. Peace out, girl scout!

The World Is Coming To An End

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Well, another first in Ayjia-land. The other day Dad was saying "Bye" as he went to work. You were a little bit cranky as usual - you never like it when dad goes to work. But, Dad left and all was well in the chicken coop. After Dad went downstairs though, he realized he had forgotten his belt. So, he trucked back upstairs (note to self: never buy a house w/ stairs again) to get his belt. After Dad got his belt to fit around his gigantic Greek arse, he went to say goodbye to you again. But, this time you weren't having it. Nope, you didn't want to be part of this party. This time you laid it on THICK! So, it was officially the first time you threw a temper tantrum over not wanting to leave your parents. It was awfully disturbing...yet, in a way, flattering at the same time. After Dad left, Mom took you downstairs, fed you, and had you watch Barney (Yes, it's still on TV...and we have like EVERY episode Tivo'd). You were cool at that point, but we'll always remember the first time you threw a fit, cried on the floor in anger, and almost exploded because you didn't want to be away from Dad! Awww.....Memories!

Note: This picture has nothing to do w/ this post. We just thought it was cool and hadn't had a chance to post it yet.

It's Official, You Got Your Dad's Ass and Your Mom's Style

Normally, going shopping and picking out shoes would not be blog worthy. But, when you pick out THESE god awful shoes from the bowels of hell....well, we really have no choice but to make fun of you in front of the whole world. Pink Leopard Print! Really?

Yup, so mom took you shopping and allowed you to pick out your own shoes. Apparently, you were going to throw a fit if you didn't get THESE exact shoes. And we could understand why. Who WOULDN'T want to wear these?

If you want to see these lovely things on her feet, scroll down to the next post. See, this is proof that it's not WHAT you wear, it's how you ROCK it. Ayjia's all like, "yo, this is how I roll!"

You Know You're Old When 24=2

Well, it may not be cold enough for snowboarding yet, but it was cold enough the other day to actually wear a jacket. And, you just looked so cute in your jacket that we had to take a picture and show you off. You're big enough now that you're starting to wear some of the cool "hand-me-downs" we've been getting. In fact, the other day we went shopping for you and you're wearing 2T now!!! Yikes! We might actually start having to tell people how old you are in YEARS now, not MONTHS...gulp! She's...uh....24mon...I mean, umm.....TWO YEARS! Stop the insanity!
