Christ Is Risen, Let's Hunt For Eggs!

We're not exactly sure why there is an Easter Bunny or why he leaves eggs or why you're supposed to hunt for those eggs or how any of this is tied to the fact that Easter is the day that Christ rose from the dead. But, who cares, it's fun!

And, this year, although it was not your first Easter, it was your first Easter Egg Hunt. And you actually did surprisingly well! You completely understood that you were supposed to pick up the eggs and put them in the basket! It was soo cool! See, who said Capricorns are slow learners!?

And, you made out like a bandit at the end of the day. You got more chocolate than all of us combined! And, I'm 100% sure that we will not touch any of our chocolate. Nope, not a single bite! rrrriiiiiiiiiiighhht.

So, we're not exactly the most religious people, but our family can hunt eggs with the best of them. So, Happy Easter Baby!

A Boy She Is Not

Ok, so your dad may dress you up rather boyish every once in a while, but its not because he wishes we had a son. No, its just cuz sometimes we find cool shirts like the one above and they look rather boyish. And, although its understandable why people (especially women) in public would say things such as "oh, HE'S soooo cute," its still a little frustrating. All that these people (read: women) have to do is look at the goddamn shoes. They have PINK LINING. So, really, when they say you are a cute boy, this is what we hear:

"Your parents are so dumb that they buy you girls shoes. I mean, honestly, they can't even tell the difference between girl shoes and boy shoes. But, that's OK, we understand and you're still a very very cute boy."

I think next we're going to have to put a sign on your forehead that says, "before you comment on my sex, check the lining of my shoes." Sigh. Baby, people are dumb. May the force be with you... always.

Are You Allergic To Sleep?

OK, we admit. We did forgot to review line item 14f in our contract with God to bring you into this world. After the events of the past few nights, we have pulled out said contract and reviewed the fine print. We were not surprised to find the following:

14f) Your child may find a routine sleeping schedule. You may get used to this sleeping schedule. You may find yourself structuring your life around this sleeping schedule. Then, one day when you least expect it, that sleeping schedule will go to shit. Your life will be ruined. You will get no sleep. You will go from 1 cup of coffee per day (which you didn't even drink until your baby was born) to 21 cups per day (or about one per waking hour).

How did we miss this part of the contract!? We were getting ready to sue God, but I guess she's off the hook for now. Goddamnit. She's so smart.

OK, Ayjia, listen up it's Coach Dad. You're sleeping during the day. Two naps at two hours each are definitely cool! Let's keep that up. But, let's focus on sleeping when....oh I don't know...EVERYONE ELSE is sleeping. For the past three nights you have decided that waking up for a midnight snack is fun to do. Well, let me tell you something, its not fun to do kiddo. Its very very bad. In fact, its so bad that evil monsters will eat your spleen if you wake up again anywhere between the hours of 9pm and 7am. We're not threatening you, we're just manipulating you...there's a huge difference. Besides, you can't expect us to be on our best behavior because that would require SLEEP!!!!
